Recording Baptisms

As people awaken, arise and seek the Lord, they become aware of His requirement for baptism. Thousands have now heeded the call, humbled themselves, and been baptized (or re-baptized) in the Doctrine of Christ, according to the Lord's pattern. (3 Nephi 11:31-35)

I rejoice that I am one of them.

Keith Henderson, who has taken on the immense burden of keeping a faithful record of those so baptized, has established a website where the names may be recorded in a permanent record. He is requesting that all 2014 baptisms be submitted by July 1st so that he can finalize the 2014 record.

Some may wonder about the need for recording names in a book; some may even reject the idea. My opinion is that it's extremely important to be baptized in the Doctrine of Christ and to have your name recorded. In fact, it's likely much more important than you or I realize.
It may seem to some to be a very bold doctrine that we talk of—a power which records or binds on earth and binds in heaven. Nevertheless, in all ages of the world, whenever the Lord has given a dispensation of the priesthood to any man by actual revelation, or any set of men, this power has always been given. Hence, whatsoever those men did in authority, in the name of the Lord, and did it truly and faithfully, and kept a proper and faithful record of the same, it became a law on earth and in heaven, and could not be annulled, according to the decrees of the great Jehovah. This is a faithful saying. Who can hear it? (D&C 128:4)
There is a day of burning coming. An acceptable baptism, recorded in heaven, will be required of those who wish to survive that day. I urge all to come unto Christ, be baptized according to His pattern, and submit their name for recording. It's a simple request. But then, so was looking at the brass serpent. Some still refused to look because their hearts were hard.

Will you look?

If you believe the Doctrine of Christ, desire baptism or re-baptism, and don't have anyone to baptize you, please send me a private message in the "Contact Me" widget to the right. I'll do what I can to help.

Hey everyone,

It's been brought to my attention that comments from mobile phones and some browsers might not come through in some situations. I recommend you save the text of your comment before submitting, in case you need to submit again.

If you commented and it hasn't appeared, try sending from a different browser, or device, or use the "Contact Me" tool to reach out to me personally. Sorry for the problems! The blogger platform, though free, seems to have problems.
