Conference for Believers

And the church did meet together oft, to fast and to pray, and to speak one with another concerning the welfare of their souls. And they did meet together oft to partake of bread and wine, in remembrance of the Lord Jesus.
—Moroni 6:5-6

I'm pleased to announce there will be a conference for believers in the Doctrine of Christ this September in Boise, Idaho. All are invited. Please visit this link for more information:

  1. Wow! Elder Clayton of the Presidency of the Seventy! That's a pretty bold invitation. What are the chances that he shows up? I would be morbidly curious as to what his topic would be. Seems like it would be a bit awkward for him to appear "on stage" with Brother Snuffer, since he was very involved in his excommunication.

I can't imagine he will accept the invitation. It would be extending an olive branch towards the "renewed Restoration" movement and that conflicts with the recent purge, which this Elder actively has participated in. But hope he does attend! He would benefit by gathering some really good information and inspiration for his next General Conference talk!

    1. I think the olive branch goes both ways. This is a wonderful opportunity for both camps to listen to, learn from, and show respect for each other.

    2. Adrian, I sure do agree. Extending the invitation to him was a Christlike act for sure.

Accepting the invitation, however, seems remote to me. For one, it goes against the spirit he has displayed so far. And two, the headlines and publicity this would create is something The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints would like to avoid at all costs, it seems to me. And three, the last thing they want is a debate of any kind. The whole purpose of excommunicating "heretics" like Brother Snuffer and you is to squash "competing" doctrine, and esp to not discuss the Gentile apostasy foretold throughout Scripture.

    3. Honestly seems like a bait job to me, just to put him in an unnecessarily awkward position so he can say no so we can point to that again. Dumb.

  2. I hope Elder Clayton agrees to speak. Was he formally invited with a letter or something? Or does/did someone have a way of extending the invitation in person? Quite a few folks are anxious to see if he accepts or declines.

Of all groups, it strikes me as correct that this one is reaching out via an invitation to LDS leaders. That says a lot. I see Gods fingerprint on this.

Is E Clayton the area authority for the boise area?

  3. The Church answered via the Intellectual Property Division, but they emailed Denver Snuffer, cc to Adrian Larsen, not the person who sent the letter (so maybe they got wind of the conference because they monitor Denver and Adrian's blogs?).

They claimed that "Elder Clayton has not received, and would not accept, an invitation to speak at the conference, which is neither supported nor endorsed by the Church or any of its leaders." (An assumption that he did not receive it? A reality?)

They also said: "In view of the foregoing, we ask that you remove Elder Clayton's name from the list of speakers on your conference website."

They say a little more. It is to be found here:
