Most certainly, it will be a few, believing Gentiles who will do so. But the general destruction of the unrepentant Gentiles is certain.

No, I'm not getting this from Millennial Messiah, nor from McConkie at all.

The Gentile opportunity to repent is still with us, but we're past the point where there's any possibility the Gentiles will repent generally or in large numbers. It comes down to individuals and families at this point.

What has been "taken" is the fulness of the priesthood, the sealing power, the commission to the LDS church, the priesthood from church leadership, and the Lord's recognition of the LDS church as his own.

I don't have a problem with the statement you cite, though the mixtures may be much more complex than we think.

Adrian Larsenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17173995703995901609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8665085267750808287.post-7993201511433658072016-02-21T17:33:49.385-07:002016-02-21T17:33:49.385-07:00Adrian-

(Again, I'm "assuming" you gained this perspective from McConkie's Millenial Messiah chptrs 20-21) Are you inferring from 3 Nephi 16:10 that when the Lord says after the Gentiles have sinned & rejected the fulness of my gospel that "I will bring the fulness of my gospel from among them" as equating to "taking"? Bring and take aren't the same. Could there be another meaning here?

Further in the post, speaking of the Gentiles you stated that once the times of the Gentiles has been fulfilled, that their "opportunity slipped away". Where are you getting this from? (sounds like McConkie again). Even if you interpret 3 Nephi 16:10-11 as you explain them (the Lord taking the gospel away because they've rejected it) how do you explain vs 13 "But if the Gentiles will repent and return unto me, saith the Father, behold they shall be numbered among my people, O house of Israel."? Seems odd that the Lord will include this if he's taken the gospel from after they've lost their opportunity?

How is the gospel "taken" away anyway? I personally don't believe this is the correct interpretation of this scripture.

Would you agree or disagree with this definition of the Times of the Gentiles?:

"The time allotted where the restored gospel would go preferentially & primarily to the Gentiles, of whom many are the mixed blood of Jacob, namely of the tribe of Joseph through Ephraim, prior to gospel going to the rest of the House of Israel."

Remnant of Josephnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8665085267750808287.post-81300507181303343842015-12-03T09:28:45.635-07:002015-12-03T09:28:45.635-07:00One thing you are missing which is a vital piece o...One thing you are missing which is a vital piece of this whole story: WHO is pouring out His Spirit to the Gentiles? One could say "The Lord," and that would be true enough, but in doing so it overlooks the Book of Mormon and the "covenant" made therein and the things which transpired in Bountiful which would change the world.

Here are some questions to ask:
* If Christ does not manifest Himself to the Gentiles en masse directly, then how is it they are to receive His Spirit?
* What is going on in 3 Ne 19:9, v. 13 and v. 24, and what does that have to do with the pouring out the Spirit and the "fulness of the Gentiles?"
* Why did Jesus quote Malachi and have them add it to their records, and what does it have to do with "this people?" What does it have to do with D&C 128:18?
* Why did Jesus give the people in Bountiful a "sign" (in 3 Ne 21:1-9) and what does it have to do with "the name whereby [they] should CALL this church" to assemble in the "last day?"
* What exactly did Jesus "give unto" those in Bountiful to be "the light" OF (not "to") this people? (3 Ne 12:13-14)

Without understanding these things, there is no comprehension of the "happiness which is prepared for the saints." Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes and prudent in their own sight! For it is written, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent."

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8665085267750808287.post-11063016374437094422015-11-29T18:11:31.809-07:002015-11-29T18:11:31.809-07:00I appreciate the time you have taken to delve into...I appreciate the time you have taken to delve into this, and to lay it out so very clearly for us. It is remarkable how much widespread attention the last blood moon received, and yet the significance of these signs in the heavens is lost on the world.
