Because Denver was expressly forbid...Hi Anonymous,

Because Denver was expressly forbidden from participating in the G&S, I believe his comments were intentionally vague and distanced from the actual events happening. As an example, here's a direct quote:

“If a group of prayerful people spend months focused on a challenge, and then many hours together—and individually—discussing, searching, praying and looking to heaven for guidance, and then reach a conclusion they can all individually and collectively testify came from heaven, how can I adequately test their outcome without giving it careful, solemn, ponderous thought and take the time to test and retest the answer we get.”

Depending on your filters, he could be describing the group of seven chosen by lots, or he could be describing the Aug. 5th group, or even other groups who have arrived at conclusions.

Similarly, regarding the "quick answer" issue, was he calling out the seven? Or the nonmancaaf folks? Or others? You get to point the finger at whomever you choose.

But the real issue is not trying to use Denver's words as proof someone is right or wrong. Denver's point was that we should all, each, individually engage in careful and ponderous and solemn thought and take time to seek answers. The idea that we can take no thought other than to ask--and expect to receive lengthy, detailed revelation in response--that's the problem. Denver took months before he even dared pray.Adrian Larsenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17173995703995901609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8665085267750808287.post-71140787751438197442018-01-18T13:34:35.409-07:002018-01-18T13:34:35.409-07:00I posted this on guide and standard but I'll p...I posted this on guide and standard but I'll post it here for your thoughts: I'm not sure if everyone has taken time to listen to Denver's latest talk given on January 14th (it can be found on his website under downloads)? He said a few things that are worth considering. He said that he never gets answers from the Lord quickly and that real answers take careful, solemn and ponderous thought. So the answer received quickly by the lots group (and all others who received answers quickly) would fall under his definition of unacceptable/not the way the Lord works.

Additionally - he said the Sermon on the Mount was the way to go. He answered the quandaries pretty succinctly in that talk and I recommend you all to listen to it. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
